A portion of Cactus Avenue will be closed for a majority of this week.
It will be closed from Las Vegas Boulevard to Interstate 15 from midnight on Sept. 11, through midnight on Sept. 15.
This closure is needed to facilitate the installation of new flood control improvements under the street. The overall project, which will be finished in the spring, includes adding travel lanes at the intersection of Cactus and Las Vegas Boulevard to improve safety and traffic flow through the area.
Traffic on Las Vegas Boulevard may be slowed during the construction, but the boulevard will not be closed during this project.
