This construction is expected to take about seven months to finish with another widening project planned after, according to the county.

Over the summer, an additional travel lane will also be installed in each direction of the 215 between Decatur Boulevard and the I-15. This work is expected to take about eight months.

During both construction projects, drivers should expect periodic lane shifts, and possibly some lane closures during overnight hours.

Drivers were advised to use caution and be aware of possible lane shifts on the 215 Beltway for about the next year.

When finished, the southwest portion of the 215 will have four lanes of travel on each side.
