A pair of local hockey teams are playing in the national championships this weekend.
The Nevada Storm Midget 16-under AA team was up against the Sylvania North Stars of Ohio in Wayne, New Jersey, Saturday afternoon. The Storm came up short, losing 3-1.
The Storm are still 2-1-0 so far in the tournament. They'll advance to the Elite 8 and took on the 14th ranked team in the nation, the Alaska Oilers, Sunday.
For the Storm Bantam 14-under AA team, they won against the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs 5-4 in overtime to remain unbeaten as they head to the Elite 8 in Charlotte, North Carolina. They played Team Wyoming Sunday.
