LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Vegas Golden Knights players and fans are reacting to the team’s coaching staff being in self-isolation.

“McCrimmon’s coached before, and we had the guys from Henderson come up so they know what they’re doing,” said VKG player Alex Pietrangelo. “We didn’t know what the plan was originally, but it worked out fine and it was an adjustment.”

The Knights announced that the team’s coaching staff was not inside T-Mobile Arena for Tuesday’s game out of an abundance of caution, due to COVID-19 protocols.

“It’s wild, I don’t remember the last time I heard of a general manager coaching a game,” said Brad Van Ess, a fan of the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Knights are recently off the road after their first loss of the season against the Arizona Coyotes on Friday.

Head Coach Peter DeBoer was looking forward to Tuesday’s game.

“It’s a good test for us, I like the fact we played the way we did against Arizona going into this game and we’ve got to build on that,” said DeBoer.
