LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Golden Knights beat Colorado Avalanche 7 to 1 on Wednesday night, saying "we put the W in Wednesday" on Twitter following the victory.

The first period of the game was marked by goals by Karlsson early on in the game and Quinney around the 10-minute mark. Meyers was penalized for hooking early on in the game as well, though it did not impede the Knight's forward momentum.

The second period of the game was another rush of points for the Knights as Amadio, Cotter, Kolesar and Korczak brought the score to a whopping 6 - 0 against the Avalanche. The Knights also, unfortunately, picked up another hooking penalty by Kolesar, a Holding Stick penalty by Maltsev, and an Interference penalty by Cotter.

The Colorado Avalanche scored the first and only goal four minutes into the third period, scored by Beaucage. Though ten minutes later, the Knights solidified their lead with another goal by Stephenson, securing the game for the Knights at 7 - 1.

In total, Colorado took a total of 26 shots at the goal and made four attempted powerplays, while Vegas took 28 shots at the goals and only made two attempted powerplays.

The Avalanche goalie Georgiev made 12 saves out of the 18 goal shots taken by Vegas, while Knights goal Johansson made 9 out of 10 saves.

The Vegas Golden Knights will be facing off against the San Jose Sharks on Friday, Sept. 30 in their next preseason game, exclusively on Channel 13.
