‘Twas the Knight Before Playoffs – a thread

‘Twas the Knight before Playoffs and all through the bubble
Not a creature was stirring nor moving a muscle

The jerseys were hung by the lockers with care
In hopes that Lord Stanley soon would be there

The fans were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of hockey pucks danced in their heads

Then out on the ice there arose such a clatter
We sprang from our beds to see what was the matter

When what to our wondering eyes did appear
The Vegas Golden Knights all suited up in their gear

Karlsson, Stephenson, Theodore and Tuch
Marc-Andre and Robin their gloves full of pucks

More rapid than eagles the players they came
Coach whistled and shouted and called them by name

“Now Reavo! Now Holden! Now Stastny and Schmidty!
On Cousins! On Marchy! Let’s skate for our city!”

From goal line to goal line the players they flew
With the top seed in the West and some confidence, too

Waiting for puck drop, the clock appears slow
The families in Vegas chant “Go Knights Go!”

They cheer for their favorites like Pacioretty and Stone
All from their very own Fortress at Home

The state of Nevada begins to Knight Up
In hopes of winning its first Stanley Cup

Tomorrow it starts, the future is bright
Happy Playoffs to all, and to all a Good Knight!
