If you're a parent concerned about in-person back to school shopping amid the pandemic, you are not alone. Here are some tips for online shopping this year.

Danielle Johnson, a mother of three, says that she was simply tired of navigating through stores when she started shopping for back to school items online last year -- pre-pandemic.

"I try not to go into stores if I don't have to. Just to avoid the crowds and the people," she said.

"But yeah, it's definitely helpful for those who feel like it's not safe to go out," Johnson added in light of the pandemic this year.

She says that places like Target have a search option for your school district on their website that provide your school's shopping list for you.

"It uploads what school you need," she said. "And it will check off every item that each student needs for school. And then, you just add them to your cart as you look through them."

Johnson recommends that parents should try online shopping on a laptop or desktop, not a phone since the screens are bigger.

She also says that her kids also feel safer virtually shopping instead of going in person to the stores this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
