LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Isolation brought on by the pandemic has caused a whole new host of problems. First and foremost, the jobs lost. As part of our Rebound efforts at 13 Action News, we’re finding out who’s hiring. 13 Action News anchor Tricia Kean shows where you can find a help wanted sign.

"Things are very difficult in these times," says recent job seeker Evan Warnock.

PATIENCE & EFFORT

Evan will never claim looking for work is easy.

"It takes a lot of patience and a good amount of effort," says Evan.

That effort can pay off. With the help of Robert Half employment agency, Evan has a job again.

WORK FROM HOME

"I’m working from home and I realize that I’m in a very fortunate position," says Evan.

It turns out, there are quite a few companies offering work-from-home opportunities.

"It’s the support staff that they really need. It’s a lot of the back office. Maybe the customer service type roles. A lot of those are being done remotely," says Damian Garcia, Robert Half regional vice president.

CONSTRUCTION JOBS

He says you need to know where to look.

"There are opportunities out there. There’s pockets. Starting with construction. We’ve seen an increase in demand from our clients in that industry," says Garcia.

OTHER INDUSTRIES NOW HIRING

Other industries looking to hire in the valley include: Health Care, Online Education, Distribution and Manufacturing and Financial Services.

"We do everything from entry-level type roles up to senior-type leadership roles," says Garcia.

Garcia says companies like his have turned the job search mobile. It’s right on an app.

"They can take a look at the jobs we have posted in real time. Apply in real time. It also tracks status. So they don’t even need to leave their home," says Garcia.

SEARCH ON YOUR OWN

Evan credits the Robert Half agency with helping him land a job, but he still suggests searching on your own too.

"Keep hitting the job boards online. Try to expand your scope in terms of the types of jobs and positions you may want to work. Be flexible... Try to do as much as you can to widen the net," says Evan.
