Flower farm grows vegetables for food pantries

ARVADA, Colo. — A couple in Colorado opened a flower farm in January and planted their first seeds — then the coronavirus hit.

Today, Crescendum Flower and Events still grows flowers, but half of their space is used to farm vegetables to help food pantries.

"We have the space that a lot of people don’t, especially in our suburban setting," owner Krista Kushik said. "We love that we can share flowers and that those can bring smiles to other people’s faces, but also that we can share this produce that we’re able to grow and really help our community through this tough time.”
