Today is National Red Wine day, not to be confused with National Drink Wine Day in February.

Red Wine Day started back in 2014, and there are many ways to celebrate. Maybe pop open a Cabernet Sauvignon.

The cab comes from the grape that's most widely planted in the world.

Next in popularity is Merlot followed by Zinfandel.

If you can't make up your mind, there are plenty of great blends of red wine to choose from.

Here are some local ways you can celebrate locally:

Estiatorio Milos, the Cosmopolitan's resident Mediterranean dining experience, touts a decadent selection of red wines by the glass that perfectly pair with the restaurant’s pristine seafood. Sip and savor on Greek red win staples like Agiorgitiko and Xinomavro on Estiatorio Milos’ private outdoor terrace overlooking the unparalleled views of the Las Vegas Strip.

Culinary mastermind José Andrés’ Jaleo brings the unequivocal flavors of Spain to the resort with the restaurant’s delectable Sangria Hour menu. Available Tuesday-Saturday 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., the specially curated menu pairs Jaleo’s best Sangría de vino tinto in addition to several other wine, beer and cocktail options, with six of the venue’s best tapas.

Scarpettabrings the seasonal culinary flavors of Italy to The Cosmopolitan, meant to be savored down to the very last bite. Pair fan-favorites like Scarpetta’s famous Spaghetti Tomato and Basil or Creamy Polenta with a glass of decadent red wine from the carefully selected wine list. Or, make it a pairing with Scarpetta’s Signature Tasting Menu, which showcases several courses of Scarpetta’s signature dishes expertly paired with wines meant to perfectly compliment your pallet.

Celebrate at South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa with the August red wine of the month. The wine of the month is available at signature restaurants Don Vito’s, Silverado Steakhouse and Zenshin. This month, guests can try the Milbrandt Vineyards 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon for only $20 per bottle! For those who favor white wines, the Milbrandt Vineyards 2018 Chardonnay will also be available.

For each bottle sold, $1 will benefit local culinary students through the Epicurean Charitable Foundation. For more information about the foundation please head to www.ecflv.org. The wine of the month is available for guests 21 years and older with a valid ID.
