LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Opportunity Village and more than 500 of its closest friends are ready to trade their Las Vegas Great Santa Run joggers and Camelot gala gowns for ten-gallon hats at the not-for-profit’s upcoming Backyard BBQ Bash.

On May 4, the country chic celebration at the not-for-profit’s flagship Ralph & Betty Engelstad Campus looks to round up critical funding for Southern Nevada adults with intellectual disabilities – and (of course) have some good, old-fashioned fun, to boot!

Cowboys and cowgirls will corral starting at 5 p.m., with a cocktail reception before a live concert and a mouthwatering barbecue dinner courtesy of sponsor Station Casinos.

Mitchell Tenpenny, the event’s featured entertainment, has been selected as one of the ACM’s New Male Artist of the Year Nominees, Pandora’s Artists to Watch in 2019 and MusicRow’s Next Big Thing honorees. His Platinum-Certified No. 1 single “Drunk Me” and other songs will have the audience ready to two-step their way across the dance floor.

“This is one of the most fun evenings of the year. It might be denim and plaid instead of black tie, but we have a heck of a good time at this event and it’s all to support the amazing individuals we serve here at OV,” said Adam Joseph, V.P. of Philanthropy at Opportunity Village. “Combining philanthropy and fun; it’s what we do best.”
