Despite the rain, the skies opened for the Red Bull Air Race World Championship at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend.

The competition featured 14 of the world's top race pilots, flying the fastest and most agile planes that reach 230 miles per hour.

Olympian alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn spent the day at the track.

"It's been really exciting. I love obviously speed and any sporting event that goes fast," Vonn said. "This has been a really fun event and I'm really happy to be here on my birthday."

Paul Bonhomme from Great Britain won, making history for taking home his third world title.
