Tickets are now on sale for the 2nd annual Picnic by Design on April 30 in Symphony Park at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Las Vegas.
Local designers are creating over-the-top picnic baskets and tables to be purchased online at www.thecenterlv.org/picnic. On April 30, attendees will gather to at the park to dine on delicious food and fine wine and enjoy entertainment by the UNLV Jazz Ensemble, songstress Toscha Comeaux and male quartet These Guys throughout the evening.
This year's theme is Parasols in the Park and proceeds from the evening will benefit The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada and Design Industries Fighting AIDS.
The event will begin with lawn games and a VIP cocktail hour at 4:30 p.m. Dinner and entertainment will follow at 5:30.
A number of nationally recognized star chefs and name brands have signed on as participants and sponsors of the event, including Interiors by Cary Vogel, Kimberly Joi McDonald of Design JOI, Lana Reed, Sandy Windom, Cleo Design, Orlando Soria of Homepolish, Elan Collections, Marteen Moore and Encore Staging & Design, and Emser Tile. Food will be provided by Rock'N'oodles, CHOW and others.
Designer picnic baskets are $300 each. Exclusive celebrity chef tables will also be available. For $125 per person, guests may also enjoy the dinner and activities without purchasing a basket or table. All guests must be 21 and older. Click here for more information.
A special preview party is taking place from 7 to 10 p.m. March 5 at the Museum of Natural Art on Tompkins Avenue. An after-party will take place next door at Rendezvous LV Nightclub. Reservations are required for the preview party.
