LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Las Vegas Police Protective Association has some ambitious plans this holiday season.

On Friday, the LVPPA is giving 100 families free turkey dinners. But that's not all -- the families will also get $50 gift cards, courtesy of Station Casinos.

The president of the LVPPA, Steve Grammas, says the families were all selected this year thanks to connections officers made in the community.

"It makes us feel great to be able to help people at this time," said Grammas.

"And it makes those families who didn't know what they were going to do feel great too," he added, "that they can now provide something for their kids."

With the success of this program, the association plans to expand to even more families for Christmas and get more local organizations involved.
