Spectators got to witness a nearly 20-minute fireworks show Monday night in Henderson.
Many Fourth of July events were actually before the date itself with fireworks celebrations on the Las Vegas Strip over the weekend. But for those who wanted to get their fix on the day itself, they could watch the show at Mission Hills Park.
Many in the crowd of more than 1,000 told 13 Action News they prefer the annual Henderson show to the shows on the Strip because they can lay back on the grass and stare out at the night's sky as fireworks go off.
Some arrived six hours early to stake out the best spot to watch the fireworks show.
