Kentucky Derby Day parties in Las Vegas | 2019

The 145th Kentucky Derby is taking place May 4 in Louisville, Kentucky, but horse racing fans in Las Vegas will be watching.

Several local restaurants, bars and hotel-casinos will be offering specials for those fans on May 4.

BEER PARK LAS VEGAS
BEER PARK at Paris Las Vegas is hosting a rooftop viewing party for the Kentucky Derby starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 4. A trumpet player will sound the horn to start the races, known as “the most exciting two minutes of sports,” adding to the fanfare of some of the race day’s favorite traditions, including mint juleps, complimentary champagne, themed decor and Kentucky Hot Brown sandwiches. BEER PARK will also offer complimentary glasses of Veuve Clicquot Champagne to the first 30 guests who arrive in derby attire and prizes to the guests who correctly guess the winning horse.

COMMONWEALTH
Commonweatlth's annual Kentucky Derby party will benefit After School All Stars Las Vegas. There will be photo booths, Tito's vodka and Woodford Reserve libations, The Four Horsemen Band and DJ Shaum Saville, and the race on a giant screen and multiple TVs. $30 general admisison includes 2 drink tickets. Tickets also available for $250.

CRAZY HORSE 3
Crazy Horse 3 is hosting a viewing party with $5 mint juleps and $20 beer buckets starting at 3 p.m. May 4. To ease any betting losses, Crazy Horse 3 will offer a free cocktail to customers with a losing ticket.

DERBY IN THE DESERT
HELP of Southern Nevada is hosting a fundraising event called Derby in the Desert on may 4 at MacKenzie River Pizza inside City National Arena. There will be food, cocktails and the race. Prizes will be awarded for the best Kentucky Derby attire. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit HELP. Tickets are $50.

THE DORSEY
The Dorsey inside The Venetian Resort is the perfect spot to sip a cocktail and catch the Kentucky Derby! Grab your racing buddies and don an elaborate Derby hat to catch The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports. The Dorsey will be showing the Kentucky Derby on all of their TV’s throughout the bar and cocktail lounge.

DOWNTOWN CONTAINER PARK
The Downtown Container Park is hosting an event for horse racing and Star Wars fans. Derby Day devotees and Jedi masters are invited to join forces in the ultimate celebration mash-up of the summer. Guests can enjoy a variety of limited edition cocktail concoctions at Oak & Ivy, indulging in both Star Wars-inspired cocktails like the Blue Milk and The Ryes of Skywalker or Kentucky flavored favorites like the Woodford Reserve Mint Julep and Oaks Lily. In between races, fuel up on brunch items, bottomless mimosas, Bellinis and Bloody Mary’s at Downtown Terrace! The second-floor eatery with a view will be serving up one complimentary Oaks Lily derby-inspired cocktail to all guests decked out in their Derby Day finest. At 7:30 p.m. Padawan learners and Sith Lords alike can gather on The Lawn to enjoy a special screening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi to close out the evening. Guests are encouraged to don their finest derby wear or Jedi garb, but not required.

ELECTRA COCKTAIL CLUB
Derby fans can flock to The Venetian Resort’s Electra Cocktail Club to catch horse racing’s biggest race on the big screen along with indulging in a variety of secret Juleps, available for $18. A spin on the classic variation, Electra will serve up five different Juleps each giving off a different flavor, perfect for guests to imbibe on throughout race day. For added fun and celebration, guests who wear a derby-style hat will receive 25% off their total bill.

FLOUR & BARLEY
Flour & barley at The LINQ Promenade is offering a Hot Brown pizza made with cheddar sauce, turkey, sliced tomato, bacon and fontina cheese for $19 at the To-Go window only on May 5.

JERRY'S NUGGET
All bettors making a $20 Kentucky Derby wager will receive a free official souvenir mint julep glass. Limit of one glass per customer while supplies last.

LAGASSE'S STADIUM
Lagasse's Stadium at The Palazzo is the perfect place to eat, drink and see who will cross the finish line at the Kentucky Derby this May 4. Special to the Kentucky Derby, Lagasse’s Stadium is offering delectable delights for all to enjoy during the race. Menu items include, bourbon BBQ glazed meatballs with grilled French bread ($8); Kentucky hot brown and creole seasoned fries ($12); along with BBQ bourbon pulled pork topped with creole mustard coleslaw on a brioche burger bun, fried pickles with creole seasoned fries ($15) and let’s not forget the Woodford Reserve Mint Julep ($16), this refreshing cocktail served in a classic Julep cup will help keep the festivities going well past the finish line.

LUCKY'S LOUNGE
From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on May 4, Derby Day fanatics are invited to Lucky’s Lounge – both the Jones and Farm Rd. locations - to show off their best-dressed wardrobe and most theatrical hats.

Guests that stunt their best show-stopping style can win prizes in categories like Best Dressed Man, Best Dressed Woman, and Best Dressed Couple.

To enter the contest, guests must arrive an hour before at 3 p.m. Winners will be announced before the race gates open.

$4 Mint Juleps will be served all day while Bulleit Whiskey promo girls serve up samples at the Jones locale while Woodford Reserve sponsors celebratory cocktail creations at the Lucky’s Lounge Farm Rd. location.
Blue Moon will be $3 while the ponies run for the roses. Food specials include a Kentucky Burgoo, Dill Benedictine Dip, and Kentucky Bourbon BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich.

PT'S GOLD
PT's Gold on Bicentennial Parkway is offering gaming promotions ahead of the Kentucky Derby, culminating with a race viewing party at 1 p.m. May 4. PT’s Gold encourages all guests to dress in their derby best and enjoy Woodford Reserve mint juleps and mimosas. An eight-player roll-a-ball horse game will also be available for guests to play throughout the day. The carnival style game will seat players in a row and start with the sounds of a bell. Cue balls will release simultaneously to all players, who then roll the ball into the holes as fast as they can. The player with the horse that reaches the end first will win.

RAMPART CASINO
Veteran handicapper Bob Ike and Race & Sports Book Manager Duane Colucci are hosting a Derby Day Seminar on May 3 in the Cascade Lounge at 6 p.m. Watch the race on May 4 at Rampart Casino and enjoy complimentary food and beverage selections from Clubhouse Deli. SMOKED BURGERS & BBQ
Smoked Burgers & BBQ in The Forum Shops at Caesars is inviting guests to wear their derby finest and receive a free glass of champagne on Friday and Saturday. Guests can also get down and derby and watch the race Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The restaurant will also feature Mint Juleps throughout the weekend.

SOUTH POINT
The South Point will be hosting a Kentucky Derby party in its Grand Ballroom There will be food and drink specials and betting windows. There will also be a hat contest at 1 p.m. Doors open at 9 a.m. A handicapping seminar will be offer at 6 p.m. May 3 in the race book.

THE STOVE
Calling all seersucker suit studs and peplum pre madonnas! When the Kentucky Derby comes around the track Saturday, May 4, sport your favorite preppy hat for a complimentary mint julep on the house. Pinky’s up!

THE UNDERGROUND AT THE MOB MUSEUM
In the spirit of the 1920s—before the invention of television—The Underground will host its first-ever “Kentucky Derby Listening Party” on May 4 from 1 to 4 p.m.

A live audio broadcast of the 2019 Derby will be streamed during this event; post time is scheduled for 3:50 p.m.

Guests will also enjoy $10 Maker’s Mark cocktails and enter a Superfecta contest for the chance to win a private party in The Underground distillery.

Must be 21 and older to attend. This event is sponsored by Zappos and Maker’s Mark.

Free entry at the speakeasy side door with password “Bourbon.”

Yardbird Southern Table & Bar will be the destination to kick-off this year’s Kentucky Derby. Starting at 11:30 a.m. and filled with Southern hospitality, the eatery will be offering 2 for 1 Woodford Reserve Special Edition Mint Juleps ($16) in a takeaway souvenir cup, Markers Mark & Woodford Reserve giveaways, and will host a best dressed contest for guests who show up in their derby attire. Guests who enter will have the chance to win a complimentary dinner for two! The Yardbird Derby party is where you will want to be!
