There are a variety of food holidays in the month of August. They include National Root Beer Day (August 6), National Frozen Custard Day (August 8), Fried Chicken and Waffles Day (August 8), National S’mores Day (August 10), National Bratwurst Day (August 16) and others. Here are some local deals for the various holidays:

National Sandwich Month (August)

Served is celebrating National Sandwich Month during August. Buy one sandwich or burger on their brunch menu and receive another at 50% off or get a sandwich or burger for 50% off with purchase of other entree or item on dinner menu (discount applies to lesser priced item). Cannot combine with other offers etc.

Robert Irvine’s Public House celebrates National Sandwich Month with a variety of handhelds that are sure to please. Guests are invited to indulge in the finest of sandwiches including the Blackened Mahi Mahi with achiote aioli, watercress, tomato, slaw, brioche bun; Pastrami with sauerkraut, grain mustard, Swiss, pickle, marble rye; the Ultimate BLT with bacon, lemon mayo, cucumber, watercress, sprouts, iceberg, tomato, onion, toasted bread; and more.

Lola’s Las Vegas (Summerlin and Downtown) celebrates National Sandwich Month with their Vietnamese and Cajun crossover sandwich, the Vegetarian Cajun Vietnamese Banh Mi. The sandwich includes a Leidenheimer New Orleans Po’Boy, mayonnaise, sliced cucumber, mixed julienne vegetables with Cajun trinity (Daikon radish, sweet peppers, celery, red onion marinated with fish sauce, lime juice, water, chopped garlic, touch of light cane sugar), roasted Portobello mushroom caps with Cajun spice mix, sliced jalapeno, and cilantro.

Echo & Rig by Chef Sam Marvin located in Tivoli Village is offering the Ultimate BLT, created with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Thick Sliced Heirloom Tomatoes, Basil Aioli, topped with Arugula tossed in Parmesan Cheese, Fresh Lemon & Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Served on our House Made Lard Bread for National Sandwich Month.

Head over to Marche Bacchus during National Sandwich Month to try their Bacchus Gourmet Grilled Cheese! Filled with creamy Brillat-Savarin, smoked gouda, crispy prosciutto, tomato jam, and avocado all on brioche bread. With all the different flavors and textures it is sure to excite the taste buds.

Tom’s Urban celebrates National Sandwich Month every day with its array of delectable sandwiches, each with a twist. Guests can enjoy choice of the Carnitas Cuban with carnitas, pit-smoked ham, Swiss cheese, yellow mustard, pickled onions, kosher dill, butter toasted sourdough; Prime Rib “Philly” Cheesesteak Dip with shaved prime rib, havarti, horseradish cream, butter-toasted brioche roll, beef demi-glace; Austin Blues Pulled Pork BBQ with pulled pork, BBQ sauce, Granny Smith apple, mustard slaw, butter-toasted brioche roll; and of course, the Chicken Club with roasted chicken, Applewood smoked bacon, fresh sliced avocado, cheddar cheese, mayo, butter lettuce, sliced tomatoes, brioche bun, to name a few.

Get your sandwich on at the all-new Smith & Wollensky at Grand Canal Shoppes. For lunch, guests can enjoy flavorful sandwiches such as the Lobster BLT with avocado, Maine lobster, chipotle mayonnaise; BBQ Spiced Tenderloin Sandwich with white cheddar, cole slaw, angry onions, pickled red banana pepper, steak sauce mayo or a Chicken Club with applewood smoked bacon, white cheddar, herb aioli.

National Root Beer Float Day (Aug. 6)

A&W: On Aug. 6 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., get a free small root beer float while supplies last. No purchase necessary.

Carl’s Jr.: For those who prefer Coke in their float. The new Coke Float is available for a limited time as part of the 100 Days of Summer promotion.

Red Robin: Order a bottomless beverage with your meal to get free refills your entire visit. The list includes root beer floats.

Wienerschnitzel: Get a free root beer float with any purchase on Aug. 6 with this printable coupon.

National Frozen Custard Day (Aug. 8)

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers: Freddy’s will offer single cake cones, single dishes and custard cookies for $1 each on Aug. 8. Plus, for each of these items sold, Freddy’s will donate 50 cents to the Kids in Need Foundation.

Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard: Rita’s will offer promotional-size frozen custard in a cup or cone for 99 cents on Aug. 8. One per guest per visit.

National Fried Chicken and Waffles Day (Aug. 8)

Metro Diner is offering a Belgian waffle topped with half a fried chicken, and served with the diner’s signature sweet and spicy sauce and homemade strawberry butter. For ultimate flavor, the diner prepares their chicken for 48 hours prior to serving, first brining it for 24 hours and then marinating for an additional 24 hours for maximum flavor and juiciness. Last year, the diner sold four times the amount of its famous Fried Chicken & Waffle dish during the inaugural event. This year, Metro Diner will offer the dish for $10.99 on the delicious holiday (usually $15.49 at most diners).

Marche Bacchus French Bistro & Wine Shop at Lakeside Event Center is celebrating with their Chicken & Waffles made with Half Citrus Roasted Free Range Chicken, Lemon & Orange Zest Belgian Waffle Brown Chicken Jus, Chantilly Cream and Maple Syrup. Priced at only $19.

Cheesecake Factory at Boca Park is offering a Belgian Waffle Topped with Crispy Fried Chicken Strips and also patrons can order with an Egg Benedict topping: Poached Eggs and Hollandaise. Served with Maple-Butter Syrup.

Echo & Rig, located at Tivoli Village, share its chicken & waffles, belgian style & served with vermont maple syrup. Open daily, 11am-11pm. Brunch is Saturday and Sunday, 9am-3pm featuring bottomless mimosas.

Lola's Summerlin and Lolas’s Downtown Louisiana Kitchen, serves up southern style fried chicken & waffles served with optional Abita Beer.

National S’mores Day (Aug. 10)

Dairy Queen: Order the S’mores Blizzard from DQ’s summer Blizzard lineup.

La Cave Wine & Food Hideaway is celebrating the holiday with a twist on the campfire favorite. The restaurant, which boasts an expansive selection of wines and inventive flatbreads, will serve its delectable S’mores Flatbread, reminiscent of the gooey, graham cracker-marshmallow treat. The dessert pizza is made with a rich, tantalizing mix of white chocolate, milk chocolate, graham cracker crumbles and toasted marshmallows on soft pizza dough, priced at $13.

Kitchen Table Squared: The decadent S'mores Please milkshake is topped with a mountain of toasted marshmallows, graham crackers, and Hershey’s chocolate.

Craft + Community at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is offering “Toasted S’more Cake” – chocolate and graham cracker cake with chocolate icing, served with toasted marshmallow ice cream for $12.

Pinkbox Doughnuts is toasting up Las Vegas in honor of National S’mores Day on Saturday, Aug. 10, with specialty “Gimme S’more” doughnuts at locations near Summerlin and in Henderson. The “Gimme S’more” is a yeast shell doughnut, filled with marshmallow filling and topped with chocolate frosting, crushed graham crackers and a toasted marshmallow. Prices vary at each Pinkbox location and start at $2.25 for an individual doughnut, $13.15 for half-dozen doughnuts, and $27.25 for a dozen doughnuts.

International Rose Day (Aug. 14)

Rose All Day the Mercato Della Pescheria way with $7 glasses of rose at their bar and lounge. Located in the Grand Canal Shoppes.

National Rum Day (Aug. 16)

Cabo Wabo Cantina, located Strip-side at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, will celebrate National Rum Day with some ‘rum’ in the sun on Aug. 16. Sip on a selection of Cabo Wabo’s rum-based cocktails, including the CW Mai Tai made with Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum, Sailor Jerry Rum, orgeat, tropical juices, grenadine and a float of Myers’s Rum, priced at $15; and the Painkiller, a tropical libation made with Bacardi Cuatro and Coco Lopez, topped off with fresh orange juice and pineapple juice, priced at $14.

MB Steak, located inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, will serve the Mojito Royale in honor of National Rum Day on Friday, August 16. The festive cocktail is created with a vibrant blend of Flor de Caña Rum, Giffard Vanille De Madagascar, sour mix, lime and mint, topped with a champagne float, priced at $15.

CRUSH, located inside MGM Grand Las Vegas, will celebrate National Rum Day with a tropical rum treat, the Pineapple Coconut Mojito, made with Bacardi Coconut Rum, pineapple juice and fresh mint, priced at $15.

La Cave Wine & Food Hideaway at Wynn Las Vegas, will stir up a signature cocktail to celebrate National Rum Day on Friday, August 16. Capture breathtaking views of the lush Wynn pools and gardens in La Cave’s new terrace, while sipping on the Havana Nights made with Aged Rum, fresh strawberry, lemon and mint, priced at $16.

Twin Peaks is also celebrating National Rum Day. Their mojito is made with Bacardi Superior, fresh mint, simple syrup, lime juice and a splash of Sprite. They will be $5 all day long on Aug. 16.

National Bratwurst Day (Aug. 16)

Hofbräuhaus: A limited-edition specialty dish, the Giant Sausage is a two-foot-long jalapeño-cheddar brat served on a toasted extra-large baguette alongside a heaping pound of crispy french fries.

National Waffle Day (Aug. 24)

The Stove in Henderson is inviting guests to try their Chicken & Waffles which features a mac and cheese waffle, fried chicken and spicy maple syrup. $17.

Cafe Americano is also celebrating National Waffle Day. Try their Blueberry Crumble Belgium Waffle made with a blueberry compote batter, vanilla crumble and is topped with house made
whipped cream.

Celebrate National Waffle Day at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar located inside The Venetian Resort with the Chicken ‘N’ Watermelon ‘N’ Waffles ($36). Served with honey hot sauce for dippin’ and bourbon maple syrup for lickin’, this over-the-top dish will make for the most Instagram-worthy photo. Guests can indulge in the savory Vermont sharp cheddar cheese waffle featured as a specialty dish throughout the month of August.
