Chopper 13 flies over ice rink at The Cosmopolitan

Chopper 13 flew over the ice rink at The Cosmopolitan on Monday morning.

The ice rink opens today for the holiday season.

There will be a tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 4 with Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi and there will also be a meet-and-greet with the players from Vegas Golden Knights on Dec. 6

Vice on Ice will take over the ice rink from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 15. Attendees will have the opportunity to give back through TAO Group Cares' Holiday Drive, benefiting the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.

And Date Skate Mondays featuring holiday movie classics will take place every Monday night.

Skaters and guests will also have the chance to enjoy a variety of curated cocktails and tasty menu items including grilled cheese and tomato soup, cheeseburgers, all-beef hot dogs and more.

The Ice Rink will be open Nov. 20 through Jan. 10. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to midnight and Saturday and Sunday from noon to midnight. Special holiday hours of noon to midnight will be in effect Dec. 22 through Jan. 10. A light snowfall will occur every 30 minutes between 7 p.m. and midnight every Tuesday through Sunday from Nov. 20 to Jan. 10. All day skating access is $20, and Tuesday through Thursday, all day skating access for Nevada residents and hotel guests is $10. Admission to the unique winter wonderland atmosphere surrounding The Ice Rink is complimentary.
