2017 National Hamburger Day in Las Vegas

The month of May is National Hamburger Month and May 28 is National Hamburger Day.

The very first version of the hamburger was reportedly invented in Hamburg, Germany. Beef from Hamburg cows was minced and formed into patties that were called Hamburg steaks.

But the modern version of the hamburger -- a beef patty served on between two pieces of bread or on a bun -- is believed to have been invented in Seymour, Wisconsin. "Hamburger" Charlie Nagreen served the world's first hamburger at the Seymour Fair in 1885.

Americans consume approximately 50 billion burgers a year and there were more than 50,000 burger joints across the country in 2015. 71 percent of all beef consumer in restaurants is in the form of a burger and burgers account for roughly 60 percent of all sandwiches sold.

The 2017 World Burger Tour at the Hard Rock Cafe is a must stop for hamburger lovers on National Hamburger Day or any other day in May and June. 

May's lineup includes the English Breakfast Burger made with a certified Angus beef patty topped with sliced ham, sausage patty, a fried egg, portabello mushroom, arugula and garlic aioli; Colombian Plantain Burger featuring caramelized onions, bacon, Monterey Jack cheese and fried plantains; Jambalaya Burger featuring a spiced-up beef patty, Cajun mayo, pickles, andouille sausage, pepper jack cheese and a jammin' jambalay rice cake; and Kimchi Burger made with sriracha-seasoned kimchi, bulgogi sauce, fesh tomato, lettuce and sriracha mayo.

The June lineup features the Tennessee BBQ Burger made with BBQ dry-rubbed premium beef topped with pickle slices, Memphis slaw, pulled pork, pig sauce, crispy onions and cheddar; Tango Salsa Burger made with andouille sausage, beef patty, salsa criolla, garlic aioli, Monterey Jack cheese, fresh arugula and a fried egg; and the Ole Burger featuring red-peppered Romesco sauce, roasted vegetables, goat cheese crumbles and arugula. 

Each burger is priced at $18.95.

Arizona Last Stop, located just on the other side of Hoover Dam on the way to the Grand Canyon, is offering their World Famous All-American Hamburger and fries for just $10 from May 28 to June 4. Guests can add organic vegetables and classic condiments including ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard. It is then served with an order of fresh-cut French fries made from a whole Russet potato. Vegetarian and chicken options are available.  Say the phrase, "National Hamburger Day" and the guest will also receive one complimentary lottery ticket. 

B&B Burger & Beer at The Venetian has multiple burgers to enjoy on National Hamburger Day. They include the Santa Fe Burger ($14), which is currently the burger of the month. The burger features fire-roasted green hatch chiles, onion, sweet corn relish, chimichurri sauce, jalapeno bacon and pepper jack cheese. 

The Drive-Thru is a fun burger to dive into with two grilled patties, American cheese, B&B pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard on a sesame seed bun ($10).

Another burger is The Hometown which is made with American and provolone cheese, ham, shredded lettuce and mustard-mayonnaise on a sesame bun, it is easy to feel young again with this delectable dish ($14). 

BEER PARK at Paris Las Vegas is home to the Breakfast Burger, a delicious blend between an American favorite and the traditional breakfast. Served all day alongside panoramic views of the Strip, the burger features a fresh ground-beef patty topped with cheddar cheese, thick cut bacon, crispy hash browns and fried egg, covered in a home-made hot aioli sauce, all on a classic grilled bun. 

Brightside Breakfast & Burgers at The Plaza hotel-casino is offering several burgers for National Hamburger Day. The Plaza Burger is served with cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato ($7); the BBQ Bacon Burger features BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato ($8); the Mushroom Swiss Burger features sauteed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato ($8); the Anytime Burger features a burger patty topped with a fried egg, bacon and cheddar cheese ($9); and the Turkey Burger is topped with roasted red peppers and mozzarella ($8). 

Cabo Wabo Cantina combines the laid-back beach-town vibe of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with the excitement of the Las Vegas Strip. Blending coastal Mexican and Tex Mex cuisine, Cabo Wabo Cantina’s Jack & Coke BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger is a must-try on the menu, made with cheddar cheese, Jack & Coke BBQ sauce and crispy fried onions. 

d.vino Italian Food & Wine Bar inside the Monte Carlo is celebrating hamburgers all month with a new burger menu created by Executive Chef Martin Garcia. The burgerst menu includes the caprese burger with vine ripe tomato, fresh mozzarella cheese, basil pesto, dried oregano and balsamic reduction ($16); Marsala burger with wild rocket arugula, gorgonzola cheese, San Daniele prosciutto, wild mushroom and marsala sauce ($17); Veggie burger with grilled portobello mushroom, eggplant and zucchini, baby spinach, smoked mozzarella cheese, oven roasted tomato and lemon aioli ($14); Ala parmigiana burger with Roma tomato concasse, provolone cheese and fresh basil ($16); and Spicy burger with spicy Italian sausage, taleggio cheese, caramelized onions, roasted peppers and calabrese sauce ($17). 

HEXX Kitchen + Bar brings a new twist to the traditional American favorite with its signature HEXX burger. Loaded with American cheese, fried onions, bacon, lettuce and tomato, what makes this burger so unique is its one-of-a-kind white chocolate bun. Known for making its own chocolate onsite, HEXX integrates its signature bean-to-bar chocolate in a variety of savory dishes for a unique dining experience. 

Remedy's, Elixir and Distill locations are offering free hamburgers to anyone with any variation of "ham" or "burger" in their legal name between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 28. Some of their burgers include the Cure Burger featuring a blend of beef and pork and fontina cheese; the Black & Bleu Burger featuring a ground chuck patty with bleu cheese and caramelized onions; and build-your-own burgers. Limit of one burger per qualifying customer. Tax and gratuity not included. Other restrictions apply. 

Siegel's 1941 at the El Cortez hotel-casino is celebrating National Hamburger Day by offering a burger featuring a half-pound charboiled beef parry, Applewood bacon, grilled onions, cheddar cheese, tomato marmalade, pickles and Dijon mustard. Served with a cold beer for only $5 all day. 

Therapy in Downtown Las Vegas combines an American gastro-style menu and full bar program. One of Therapy’s hit burgers is The “Big Sexy,” made with wagyu beef, topped with Boston bib lettuce, roasted tomato, brie and scallion mayonnaise. Pair the seductive burger with one of Therapy’s 40 craft beers, or the restaurant’s new hand-crafted whiskey, created in a local Las Vegas distillery and brewery. 

Triple 7 Restaurant and Microbrewery at Main Street Station is offering a free 16 ounce micro brew with the purchase of any hamburger on National Hamburger Day. 

Umami Burger, Beer Garden & Sports Book inside SLS Las Vegas offers a savory twist on traditional burgers with the Truffle Burger. Featuring a hand-formed patty of house-ground premium steak, infused with Umami’s unique blend of enhancing sauces and seasonings, the Truffle Burger is covered in truffled aioli, house truffle cheese and truffle glaze—an indulgent dream come true for truffle lovers. 

Whole Foods Market is offering a special deal on Beyond Meat vegan burgers for anyone looking for a vegetarian-friendly burger. The special includes 2 packages (2 patties per package) for $9 on May 28 while supplies last. 

The brand new MB Steak at the Hard Rock Las Vegas has the MB Steak Burger on their menu. It is prepared with hand-cut Applewood smoke bacon, butterkase cheese and of course served with fries.

El Dorado Cantina is offering a $5 organic Mayweather Burger or organic Mexican Burger when you mention National Hamburger Day. Fatburger on the Las Vegas Strip is offering the same deal for a regular Fatburger, and Rock & Reilly's is offering a $10 Royal with Cheese for mentioning National Hamburger Day.
