13 Things To Do This Week In Las Vegas For Aug. 10-16

Here is a list of 13 things to do this week in Las Vegas for the week of Aug. 10 through 16:

1. Comedian Amy Schumer is performing Aug. 10 in The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan. She'll be joined by Rachel Feinstein, Bridget Everett and Mia Jackson.

2. The Majestic Repertory Theatre is opening its third season in the Las Vegas Arts District with an intimate staging of the Kander & Ebb musical "Cabaret." The musical explores the dark, heady and tumultuous life of Berlin's natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich in the 1920s.

3. Ward 4 is hosting a back-to-school pool party at the Durango Hills YMCA on Aug. 10. Enjoy free swimming, a live DJ, community vendors, raffle prizes and more.  

4. Head to the Pavilion Pool on Aug. 10 for Dive-In Movie Night. Take a dip in the pool or lounge on a raft or in a deck chair and watch "The Boss Baby."

5. The Fresh52 Farmers and Artisans Market will have free back-to-school crafts for kids, giveaways, free food and more this weekend. The market is happening Aug. 11 at Inspirada's Solista Park and on Aug. 12 at Sansone Park Place.

6. The 9th annual Strong Beer Fest is happening Aug. 11 at Aces & Ale Tenaya. The festival will feature of the "rarest and greatest" specialty beers to hit Las Vegas. All of the beers were handpicked by the owners of Aces & Ale.

7. A launch party for the Rainbow Company Youth Theatre's new season is happening Aug. 12 at Charleston Heights Arts Center. Learn about this year's productions, get a sneak peek of the season, watch the Poor Bear Parade, and participate in various activities.

8. The Macaggi Brothers will present "The History of Harmony" on Aug. 12 at the Italian American Club. Produced y Frank La Spina. The performance will benefit the musical arts scholarship program.

9. The Las Vegas Municipal Pool is hosting a back-to-school beach party on Aug. 12. There will be swimming, games, dancing, treats and more. Cost is $4 per person.

10. Sharky's Modern Mexican Kitchen is offering a free kid's meal (ages 10 and under) with a purchase of an adult entree from Aug. 12-17 to help relieve a little of the stress of going back to school. The offer is good at both locations.

11. Las Vegas legends Clint Holmes and Earl Turner are doing something special for teacher and other school employees during the month of August. Anyone with a valid CCSD identification will receive 2 free tickets to a performance in August at Westgate Las Vegas.

12. The Bootlegger Bistro is hosting an album release party for guitarist Steve Oliver on Aug. 13. Oliver will perform songs from his new album titled "Illuminate."

13. The Melvins are performing Aug. 15 at The Bunkhouse Saloon. The Melvins formed in Washington in 1983. The group has toured with KISS, White Zombie, Primus, Tool, Rush and others.
