13 Things to do in Las Vegas for May 12-18

1. It's time once again for Helldorado Days. The Las Vegas Elks celebrate Nevada's rich western history with this annual event that began back in 1934. The festival opens at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12 and 2:00 pm. on May 13 and 14. Bring the whole family out to the Parade on May 13 at 10 a.m. on Fourth Street from Gass Avenue to Ogden Avenue.

2. Whiskerino is also part of Helldorado Days but worth mentioning on its own. This contest for spectacular displays of facial hair will be quite the sight to behold. From wild west styles to the longest beard you can see it all at 3 p.m. on May 13 at the Rodeo Grounds at Las Vegas Village.

3. For more family fun, the 38th annual San Gennaro Feast is going on at Craig Ranch Park through May 14. There will be rides, music, fireworks and amazing Italian food.

 

4. Fans excited for the upcoming Tupac biopic "All Eyez on Me" can get a sneak peek at Premium Outlet South on May 14. As part of "The All Eyez on Me Experience" Cine-Transformer Tour, Codeblack Films is taking a 53-foot mobile cinema around the country to give fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of the movie.

 

5. If you mom loves art, check out the Art Festival of Henderson from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 13-14 at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street. Admission is free and the event includes 2 stages of live music, food vendors, kids activities and dozens of fine art and craft displays.

 7. Moms who love pizza are in for a treat at Evel Pie. The Fremont Street pizza haven is hosting pre-Mother's Day pizza making classes on May 13 at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Moms receive free mimosas and bellinis plus prizes. Click here for ticket information.

9. If you're a fan of The Daily Show, catch Trevor Noah performing at the Mirage on May 13-14.

10. Sip and stroll at theDowntown Summerlin Wine Walk on Saturday, May 13 at 7 p.m. It features 15 tasting stations with wine, cocktails, sake and craft beer, plus live music. The event benefits New Vista, a local that serves and supports the intellectually challenged of all ages with equal opportunities & support so they may experience life to the fullest.

11. The First Street Art Trailis hosting an outdoor reception to introduce the new city of Las Vegas Aerial Gallery on May 18. It starts at 5:30 p.m. in front of Las Vegas City Hall. Participating banner artists include Lyndia Radice, Camilla Quinn, Valentin Yordanov, David Ryan, Matthew Couper, JK Russ, Gig Depio and Andrew Colunga.
 

12. For food and fun with your pets, head to Paws on the Patio on Tuesday, May 16, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Paradise Pub. This week's event features a live performance from Max Fischer.

 

13. The 11th annual County in the Park will take place on May 13 at Exploration Park at Mountains Edge. Hosted by 95.5 The Bull, the free event features Granger Smith, Ryan Follese and Elvis Monroe. Faimilies can also enjoy food, booths, and a Beer Garden.
