Sunny Side Up opens in middle of coronavirus pandemic

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Sunny Side Up started in Chicago but quickly made its way to Sin City.

Owner Nicholas Sword said he fell in love with Summerlin and knew he needed to open a restaurant in Las Vegas.

The only problem? Opening day was in the middle of Nevada's stay-at-home order.

"I had to make a decision and decide if I would open," said Sword. "I did and hoped to gain customers for the future."

Good news came faster than Sword was expecting when Gov. Steve Sisolak announced restaurants could reopen their dining rooms again under social distancing requirements.

"Every week we are picking up," Sword said.
