A new mother, Taylor Richendrfe,  took maternity leave into her own hands by starting a GoFundMe to raise funds to stay at home with her newborn son.

Her son Aiden was born nine weeks early but Richendrfe was unable to receive added maternity leave from her job.

“I just couldn’t fathom the idea of him coming home and me not being able to be home with him,” said Richendrfer.

Richendrfe raised over $6k through GoFundMe, which shows why crowd funding for maternity leave and other medical emergencies has become so popular.
