Burger King and Frito-Lay seem to think it could be a big hit.
The deep-fried sticks of macaroni cheese encrusted in a Cheetos-flavored shell will be sold for about 8 weeks or until supplies run out. The Mac 'n Cheetos will be sold for $2.49 and have already appeared on the menus of some Burger King restaurants.
Fast-food restaurants are under intense pressure to get more creative in their menus to attract new customers. Burger King also began selling hot dogs earlier this year. Other fast-food restaurants, began relying more heavily on discounts, such as the two-for-$5 deal.
