A woman says her dog died after being thrown to the ground by another pet owner at the Craig Ranch dog park.

Marly Junequeria says she and her 8-year-old Chihuahua, Prada, would frequently visit the dog park and never had any issues until Monday morning.

"I cannot believe it, it was like a nightmare," Junequeria said.

Junequeria says she was trying to get Prada into her car when the Chihuahua ran inside another woman's car.

She says the women picked up Prada and slammed the dog to the ground.

"I said 'oh my god I think she's dying,'" Junequeria said.

A witness did tell 13 Action News the situation shouldn't have happened but believes the woman may have had dogs in the car and she freaked out.

Documents from El Camino Norte Animal Hospital show Prada had to be resuscitated. The hospital could only tell 13 Action News the animal was brought for an emergency situation.

North Las Vegas Animal Control does have a case on the incident, but could not comment whether any charges would be filed.
