The annual Adult Entertainment Expo is back. Even though Las Vegas hosts AVN every year, southern California is known as the porn capital of the world. The big question is, now that the condom law is in effect, could Las Vegas become the new porn capital?

The Senior Editor of Pleasure Products for AVN, Sherri Shaulis, weighs in on the possibility to Action News. She says the condom law is affecting the porn industry in southern California, but she's pretty certain it won't completely shift to Las Vegas.

"It's not being enforced just yet because the manpower that it would take is too much," said Shaulis.

But in the same breath, Shaulis says, the law is creating inconveniences.

"It is having an effect," she said. "Everyone is keeping their eye on what's going to happen. It's going to court. So we're going to see if it gets appealed and overturned. But for now, it's business as normal for right now."

However, some porn companies are playing it safe and driving outside of LA. County to shoot their films. For instance, they come to Las Vegas. But of course, that means more time and more money.

"We have to pay for transportation or flights or for stay at a different hotel," said Daniel Abramovich, the CEO of Virtual Reality Bangers.

All in all, Shaulis and Abramovich both agree, Las Vegas will not officially become the new porn capital of the world.

"All the porn stars live in LA," said Abramovich. "People think they live in Vegas, but actually, all of them live in LA. So for us, it's better because we have more options that we can choose from."

"The industry has just been centered in southern California for so long," said Shaulis. "They might shoot more out here, but I don't know that they would relocate."

Organizers of the expo say they will continue to come back to Las Vegas for AVN year after year.
