Nevada Highway Patrol has released some video which appears to show a woman attempting to flee while wearing a bikini.
On June 25, 2016, around 10:40 p.m., NHP dispatch received several calls for a female pedestrian in a bikini walking in and out of the travel lanes of northbound I-15 near Sahara Avenue.
A Trooper located the woman in the left shoulder of northbound I-15 and attempted to make contact with her. He positioned his patrol vehicle in the left travel lane with its emergency lights activated.
The woman was visibly distraught and took off running southbound across the travel lanes of the I-15.
The Trooper acted without regard to his own safety in order to save her from being struck and chased the subject into the travel lanes.
As the woman was about to enter the third travel lane in the path of an oncoming vehicle, the Trooper was able to reach her and safely remove her from the travel lanes.
If it was not for the Trooper’s quick reaction and willingness to risk his own safety to save the distraught woman, she would have likely been struck by oncoming traffic.
The woman was then transported to UMC hospital for evaluation.
