UPDATE

People in one neighborhood are dealing with the dangers of speeding, after a car came crashing towards a house early Thursday morning, then flipped on it's side right on the sidewalk.

One mother who lives nearby that crash says it's not uncommon for cars to speed down Winterwood.

"People need to be more careful, because this neighborhood is full of small children," says Ambrosia James Bass.

James Bass says even though Winterwood is a small street, it does get a lot of traffic with people trying to cut over to Sahara.

Police say a citation was issued after the crash.

ORIGINAL STORY

A car is flipped up on its side in a neighborhood near East Charleston and Nellis boulevards.

The incident happened in the 1800 block of Winterwood Blvd. It was reported at approximately 5 a.m. Thursday. Chopper 13 was first on the scene.

A viewer and resident of the neighborhood told 13 Action News that it is common to hear drivers speeding in the area. She also said that she heard another car speeding off after the crash.

Police are listing the incident as a hit-and-run on their website.

It appears the driver stayed on the scene.
