LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas officers were talking burglaries at a First Tuesday event at the Summerlin area command center.
Police told residents to always be on the lookout, as homes within gated communities with guards can also still be vulnerable to break-ins.

"You're gated and guarded – that's fantastic - but there's going to be a hole in the wall, I promise. Burglars can roll in with their friends or the landscaper," said Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Bureau Captain Sasha Larkin.
Officers also recommended residents to sign up for the Nextdoor app to help track what's happening in the neighborhood.
