For people quickly escaping Hurricane Florence's path, Las Vegas might not be the most immediate option.

But for many who already had vacations planned in advance, they say the timing worked out perfectly to get out of town before the hurricane.

We saw several flights coming into McCarran from places like Raleigh, Charlotte, and Atlanta carrying people concerned about the hurricane coming.

13 Action spoke with one man from Virginia Beach who said he planned his trip weeks ago.  He says he still has family near the beach and says he's been in touch with them while also trying to enjoy his Vegas trip.

We also met a mother-daughter duo on vacation from Charleston, SC.  Mary Lang says she's actually in the process of building a house in Charleston on the coast, and her belongings are in storage.  They're hoping the hurricane won't destroy their belongings, but aren't trying to think about it.  They say they're just focusing on having fun and say Las Vegas is a nice distraction for them.
