LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — UNLV and the University of Nevada, Reno, have issued a joint statement announcing that they will align with the NCAA's decision to have all athletic competitions with "only game-essential staff in attendance."
Fans and spectators will not be allowed at any upcoming spring season competitions.
The schools site "the health and safety of student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans is the top priority" for the decision.
The statement concludes that, "The institutions will continue to evaluate and assess the impact of COVID-19 in consultation with local health officials, the Mountain West Conference and campus colleagues and continue to follow federal, state and NSHE guidelines and best practices."
