LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The investigations continue into two bodies found along the same stretch of road on State Route 147 heading towards East Lake Mead.
Thomas Burchard, 71, and Marcos Madrid, 33, were found eight days apart.
On March 7, Burchard's body was located near mile marker 14 in an abandoned vehicle with a blunt force injury to his head, according to officials.
Marcos Madrid was found with multiple gunshot wounds on March 15 after Las Vegas police received a call from someone who discovered the body in the desert near mile marker 10 on SR-147.
However, authorities could not confirm if the two deaths were related.
Investigators said due to the suspicious circumstances in both cases, the department has ruled the deaths homicides and was asking for anyone with information to come forward.
Burchard was a favorite psychiatrist in Monterrey, California. His patients took to social media expressing how much they're going to miss him.
The Salinas resident's girlfriend, Judy Earp, said Burchard loved to visit Las Vegas and had visited the valley in February, but days later he returned on his own.
And Madrid called Las Vegas home for more than ten years after moving with his mother and grandparents from Southern California.
