LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Thousands of people have signed a petition saying the airport in Las Vegas should be named Las Vegas International Airport.
As of 12:15 a.m. early Saturday there were just under 8,500 signatures on the change.org petition.
Creators of the petition say renaming McCarran International Airport to Harry Reid International is just a political stunt.
They also say the people of Nevada should decide the name.
Clark County Commissioners unanimously approved the name change earlier this month, which they say will be paid for with private donations.
