A 17-year-old girl that was shot and sent to the hospital late last week has died. A 16-year-old male suspect has been arrested in connection to the shooting.

On Oct. 15, at about 5:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of Bridge House Street in reference to an unresponsive person.

Officers who arrived on scene located the 17-year-old Arely Arzate-Lujan suffering from unknown injuries. She was transported to UMC Trauma in critical condition. She later succumbed to her injuries over the weekend.

The preliminary investigation indicates Arzate-Lujan was inside a home in the 3300 block of Bridge House with her 16-year-old boyfriend when the incident occurred.

Evidence suggests the boyfriend shot his girlfriend at least once with a handgun before attempting to conceal the firearm from investigators.

Last night, Detectives arrested the 16-year-old male suspect for murder with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence. He was subsequently booked at the Clark County Juvenile Hall.

Anyone with additional information regarding this case is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
