LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The staff 13 Action News spoke to at Tyrone Thompson Elementary School says these last few weeks have been difficult for numerous reasons.

Not only is there the stress of bringing kids back under new guidelines, but a second-grade teacher says they've received criticism from adults.

"There has been a lot of teacher bashing in the last year with people saying that teachers don't want to be working or they're not working, and I just wanted to say we're probably working the hardest we've ever worked in this last year. [We] want people to know that we are working, we want to be in school we want to be with the kids, we just want to do it in a safe manner," teacher Andrea Roach said.

School Principal Robert Hinchliffe says this process has been overwhelming for the staff since many are currently teaching distancing learning while preparing for the return of students.

Hinchliffe also said they have made sure to focus on the mental health of teachers as well during the transition.
