A 21-year-old man was shot in the face Monday night.
Police said around 8:40 p.m. the man was leaving the Portofino Villas, near Lake Mead Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive, when he encountered a group of black males. There was a brief verbal exchange when one of the males pulled out a handgun and fired a shot through the front windshield of the victim's vehicle, striking him in the face.
As the victim was leaving the complex, the suspect fired another shot striking the back of the victim's vehicle.
The 21-year-old victim was transported to the hospital but has since been released.
The suspect remains outstanding.
