UPDATE: The Clark County coroner identified the man killed as 27-year-old Steven Wayne Spurlin of Las Vegas. He died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal shooting near North Rainbow Boulevard and Westcliff Drive.

Police say they received several 911 calls about a shooting. The male victim was found lying on the ground when police officers arrived.

The shooting was reported around 12:30 p.m.

At this time, no one has been arrested. The suspect or suspects fled the scene in a gray Nissan Altima after the shooting.

A nearby business owner tells 13 Action News his employee witnessed the murder. We're told the distraught worker first heard a screeching car.

When he turned around, he saw the victim fall from the back seat of a car onto the pavement.  The victim yelled, "Please don't shoot."

That's when the suspect reportedly raised his arm and fired multiple shots. The man died on scene.

Loved ones of the victim were sobbing on scene.

Detectives said they have uncovered surveillance videos.
