Two men and a woman believed to have been shooting at vehicles in northwestern Arizona and Nevada on Thursday, and linked to a shooting and homicide investigation in Nevada, have been arrested in Arizona, authorities said Friday.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety and La Paz County Sheriff's Office said it received reports early Thursday of people shooting at vehicles along State Route 95, near Parker, Arizona, in the northwestern part of the state.

DPS said the vehicle description matched the vehicle that police in Henderson, Nevada were looking for related to a shooting and homicide investigation.

A DPS trooper located a vehicle that matched the description traveling along State Route 72, near State Route 95. When the trooper got close to the vehicle, the driver drove off the roadway and the vehicle rolled onto its roof, DPS said in a news release.

As the trooper and a sergeant approached the vehicle, one of the occupants pointed a handgun at the trooper, DPS said, which led to both the trooper and the sergeant to shoot back.

DPS said one of the suspects was struck. All three suspects were then taken into custody.

A 30-year-old man, later identified as Shawn McDonnell, was taken to the hospital with a serious and non-life-threatening gunshot wound, DPS said. A 28-year-old man, later identified as Christopher McDonnell, was transported to the hospital with injuries sustained when the vehicle rolled over, and 25-year-old Kayleigh Lewis was taken to the hospital and later released. She was then booked into the La Paz County Jail.

The La Paz Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting along State Route 95. DPS and its Mohave County Criminal Targeting Unit are investigating the trooper-involved shooting on State Route 71.

In Henderson, Nevada, the Henderson Police Department said it received reports during the overnight hours on Thursday from people who believed they were being shot at around Henderson.

They also discovered a 22-year-old man dead, and four other people -- a 22-year-old woman, an 18-year-old man, a 41-year-old man, and a 53-year-old man -- all suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The four survivors were transported to the hospital for treatment and were expected to survive, police said.

Henderson Police said it appears the three were shooting at random people in its city with no apparent motive.
