LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — During Saturday morning’s update, Registrar of Voters Joe Gloria says that the bulk of mail-in ballots should be counted by Sunday.
Gloria also said that about 39,000 mail-in ballots, including 25 received today, still need to be counted and the department is still in the process of curing many ballots.
Additionally, Gloria said that 60,407 provisional voters have been separated and need to be checked against state records. The soonest those votes will be verified and incorporated into the count is Wednesday.
When asked about how long it is taking to count the ballots in Clark County, Gloria said the local election department doesn’t have the equipment, facilities or staffing in comparison to other places like Colorado, Oregon and Washington.
However, he says he can’t nail anything down specifically that has slowed the process down in Clark County.
Gloria has stressed during all of the department’s press conference and during various appearances on local television that it is more important to be right than to be fast.
When asked about possible cases of fraud, Gloria responded that they have received some reports that they are logging and reporting and they are definitely going to do an investigation.
