Las Vegas police investigating a homicide in the east valley

UPDATE JUNE 23: The Clark County Coroner has identified the deceased man as 44-year-old Brian Michael Irvin from Las Vegas. His cause of death was a gunshot wound to the face and it was ruled a homicide.

ORIGINAL STORY
LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- On June 20 at approximately 9:14 p.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a 911 call from a citizen reporting a shooting at a motel in the 6000 block of Boulder Highway.

Responding officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.

The investigation led by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicates the victim was involved in an argument with an unidentified male in the parking lot.

During the argument, the victim and the unidentified male each produced a firearm and exchanged gunfire. The victim was struck, and the suspected shooter fled the area in a vehicle.

The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
