Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man after his body was found in the road Saturday morning.
Around 6:25 a.m., police found the victim laying in the road at Sunrise Avenue and Prince Lane, not far from Charleston and Lamb boulevards. The person was deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
He was identified as 32-year-old Samuel Magana. His residence is unknown. The Clark County coroner ruled he died of a gunshot wound to the head.
Homicide detectives determined the victim was shot at a different location and discarded on the roadway. Police did not specify where the initial shooting took place.
It was reported that a silver pickup left the area after a gunshot was heard earlier in the morning.
This is the 64th homicide investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2016.
