NORTH LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — North Las Vegas police are asking for help from the public identifying a suspect after a security guard was shot and killed.
The shooting happened on March 6 near Carey Avenue and Revere Street in a developing neighborhood under construction.
Police say, 23-year-old Naajee Johnson was working as a security guard for a construction company, watching over their equipment when he was shot.
Around 9 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call about an unresponsive man inside a vehicle.
When police arrived, they found Johnson inside a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced Johnson dead on the scene.
Witnesses in the area told police they heard gunshots around 4:00 a.m. but did not report them to the police department.
