This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for May 2, 2017.

8:45 P.M.

North Las Vegas Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead near Cheyenne Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard. Two others were also injured. It happened in the 1200 block of West Cheyenne Avenue. Police found the deceased in an apartment on arrival. No one has been arrested.

8:10 P.M.

A motorcycle rider is in critical condition after colliding with a sedan at Charleston Boulevard and Fogg Street. There are lane restrictions in the area while Las Vegas police investigate.

4:10 P.M.

The Lake Mead National Recreation Area said police are investigating "an unidentified item" found buried near Aztec Wash around 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. Lake Mead employees observed a foul smell and discovered a partially exposed tarp and reported it. The contents of what is buried is unknown at this time.

1:53 P.M.

Police are reporting a fatal collision at the intersection of South Decatur Boulevard and West University Avenue. A female victim was transported to University Medical Center and was later pronounced dead. This is a developing story and more details will be published as they become available.

1:15 P.M.

Las Vegas police are reporting that a body was found covered in concrete just east of Nelson's Landing in the area of Lake Mead.

11:12 A.M.

Henderson Fire Department is reporting a fire on the roof of the Villas at Green Valley apartment buildings near Green Valley Parkway and Warm Springs Road.

10:34 A.M.

Clark County Fire Department responded to a fire at 6069 Judson Avenue. The fire was put out at a mobile home and all occupants were safely evacuated.

9:20 A.M.

Las Vegas police are currently investigating a shooting on the 1300 block of Sombrero Drive near Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway. The victim has been transported to Sunrise Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the suspect is still at large.

6:30 A.M. 

A school bus was involved in a crash going westbound on St. Rose Parkway.

6 A.M.

Police believe a large truck clipped a gas pump at a station near Twain Avenue and Paradise Road on Tuesday morning. The pump was knocked over and caught fire. The fire department was able to put it out quickly. All of the pumps are now out of service.

5 A.M.

Police have reopened Maryland Parkway and Tropicana after a woman with a gun barricaded herself inside her car. Police say she backed into an officer's cruiser while trying to escape a traffic stop.

LVMPD SWAT officers surrounded her vehicle, and used a robot to confront her.  

13 Action News was able to talk with another woman who says she helped police with their negotiations. 

"I just told them she has a son," the woman told 13 Action News.  "I said talk about her son and she might come out of her car." 

The woman has been taken into custody.
