A new bishop has been chosen to lead Southern Nevada's 750,000 Catholics.
Bishop George Leo Thomas has been appointed to lead the diocese and will officially take the post on May 15.
Thomas has spent the past 14 years as the bishop of Helena, Montana.
The previous bishop, Joseph Pepe, announced his retirement after 17 years in Las Vegas.
