Nevada's Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) tweeted that she will not be taking a salary during the government shutdown.

“I cannot take a salary during a government shutdown knowing that so many federal workers in Nevada and across the country will go without pay,” Cortez Masto tweeted shortly after the shutdown began at midnight. “I’ll be donating my salary to a Nevada charity for every day of the Trump shutdown."

Cortez Masto also criticized President Trump in another tweet for shutting down the government.

Cortez Masto also donated her salary when the government shut down for a few days in January 2018.

Congress failed to meet the deadline of midnight on Friday to prevent a partial government shutdown.
