Nevada: Nonpartisan outpaces Democrat, GOP among new registrations

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The number of registered voters in Nevada increased last month. Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske reported Tuesday that Republicans added more new voters to their rolls than Democrats but unaffiliated voters outpaced both parties.

Overall 36,846 more active registered voters were added to the state’s rolls last month.

Of those, 11,746 registered as nonpartisan voters; 11,441 registered as Republicans and 9,274 registered as Democrats.

Statewide, Democrats make up 38% of Nevada’s active voters, while Republicans make up 33% and nonpartisan voters make up 23%.

There are nearly 1.7 million active registered voters in Nevada.
