Gov. Steve Sisolak says the men and women of the Nevada National Guard have arrived safely for their mission in Washington, D.C., ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.
I got word tonight that the men & women of the @NVNationalGuard have arrived safely for their mission in the days prior to and during the Jan. 20 presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C. I am grateful for their continued work in support of our State and our nation— Governor Sisolak (@GovSisolak) January 16, 2021
"The Nevada National Guard will ensure that this will be a great mission," Maj. Gen. Ondra Berry told 13 Action News previously.
Total deployment to Washington, D.C., for the Presidential Inauguration will include 21,000 troops from around the United States, which tops the current deployment of personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.
