Nevada Highway Patrol identifies drivers in deadly wrong-way crash near Moapa Valley

MOAPA VALLEY (KTNV) — The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the two drivers involved in a deadly wrong-way crash on Interstate 15 near Moapa Valley around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.

According to the agency, a Toyota Tacoma driven by 39-year-old Rayanne May Walters of Logandale was traveling the wrong way on the I-15.

Troopers say the pickup truck was heading northbound in the southbound lane near Mile Marker 101 in Clark County (near Moapa Valley) at the same time a Mercedes Sprinter van was traveling southbound.

The driver of the van has been identified by authorities as 30-year-old Dylan Jeffrey Hazelhurst of Grand Junction, Colorado.

The two vehicles crashed into each other head-on. Both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
