The driver of the car, later identified as a Nevada correctional officer, died at the scene with the truck employee suffering minor injuries.

Troopers closed US-95 NB and diverted traffic to SR-157 for the on-scene investigation.

The NDOT vehicle’s lights were on and it appeared the worker was following department safety policies, according to NDOT.

NHP said it was searching for witnesses who may have seen the crash and urged anyone with more information to contact fatal detail at 702-432-5084.
