Penalized for 'pay' - Girls soccer team yellow carded for shirts

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A girls soccer team in Vermont was yellow carded for wearing T-shirts that read #EQUALPAY during one of their matches to support their heroines, the U.S. Women's Soccer Team.

Initially, the Burlington High School teammates wore the t-shirts during warm ups before the game, putting their jerseys on to comply with the dress code standards.

But, when a late third goal was scored, some of the excited players took off their jerseys in celebration, revealing the shirts and the fans began chanting, "Equal pay!"
